How to Transiently Switch 2 Circuits in Opposite Phases at Same Time?

09/13/2010 1:54 AM

Both Circuit A & Circuit B are elctromagnetic devices.

I want to install an extra spring switch to control Both Circuit A & Circuit B. My intention is as follows:

I think I need to change both switchs in Circuit A & Circuit B as well.

Can anyone tell me how I can set up to such a circuit?

Thanks a lot!

How about a normally-open pushbutton driving a double-pole changeover relay? Drive circuit A off one pole and circuit B off the other.

Just "shifting" key A & key B to the Key switch?

... Or even a pushbutton with one NO and one NC contact block?

Yep. That would do it.

GA

Young Ken,

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Cat=1114209&k=momentary%20switch

In the column headed "circuit" highlight DPDT then click on "Apply Filters".

Make sure you meet the voltage/current requirements.

Or

SPDT =Single pole double throw toggle switch

With two separate circuits you'd need double pole switching.

In India we suffered from large voltage fluctuation in past and a genius find a solution for that. Yes try open a V-guard stabiliser you will find the relay contacts very close.

You need to define "same time" clearly. Is it in seconds, milli seconds, micro seconds or nano seconds that you want to switch two signals together?

Sequence for reduced time will be

Tactile manual switch - 100ms to 1s

Electromechanical relay 1ms to 100ms

Solid state relay 1us to 1ms

Fast MOSFET relay 1ns to 1ms

Both switching current and switching time along with synchronization time to be clearly stated.

The OP states that the circuits being controlled are "electromechanical", so it's very unlikely that the synchronization would need to be faster than, say, 10 to 100ms.

A pushbutton (especially if fitted with a snap-action mechanism) could easily achieve this. A biased double pole toggle switch (on-(on) action) would also do the job.

Yes, the figure shows two switches single polse single through one NO and one NC type switch.

Commonly used PLCs will activate relay contacts in 1ms and PLC operates all relays in parallel by latching relay control almost within few microseconds jitter. Some PLC may be poorly designed so one need to read the manual properly on how relays are operated. In theory, they should operate together for all outputs.

It all depends on what person really want to do out of such contacts.

If such contacts are changing power to critical instrument then watch out for power breaking time.

  • you should to choose two contactor with inter locking lever at the same time with NO NC contact,

and you needed limit switches also available in market.you can use it.
