	We are having 440V 32Amps ,3 Phase Welding machine , which is having R Y B phase supply, Currents in R,Y,B , Phases are32A,16A,16A,.Can i use ELCB for these welding machine.

	A 3 or 4 pole RCCD (ELCB) will work fine. I'd recommend it given the abuse most welding sets receive. __________________ The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

	ITS A PERFECT SOLUTION FOR A SAFE ELECTRICAL OPERATION OF WELDING SETS AND ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO SELECT THE MAX ALLOWABLE LEAKAGE CURRENT PERMISSIBLE. TO MY KNOWLEDGE FOR A HEALTHY EQUIPMENT CONNECTED TO A DEDICATED 32AMPS TPN 415VOLT WELDING SET 63mA CURRENT IS OK. IN FACT THIS PRACTICE IS FOLLOWED IN REFINERIES WORLDWIDE FOR GIVING POWER SUPPLY TO WELDING MACHINES. PRIODICALLY U HAVE TO CHECK THE HEALTHINESS OF THIS ELCB IN EVERYMONTH AS A SAFE/STANDARD ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PRACTICE. __________________ S BHATTACHARYA

	You must use long delay CBs due to the heavy start surges in welding machines of the transformer type. Otherwise you will have nuisance tripping. A 75 Amp 3 phase incoming supply would have been better for your machine. __________________ Dont get on to the roundabout if you dont know how to get off

	Yes you can use an ELCB we run them on all our welders, use motor start or d curve breakers this deals with incidental tripping due to high inrush current when starting the weld.

	Yes this is a compulsory statutory requirement to have welding on EL Protection for fire requirements (300mA) Ronald Naidoo Electrical Engineer
