Indeed, planting trees is good for the environment on many levels.
I do some 'stealth planing' on the edge of local woodland, I move trees which the squirrels have planted in my garden and put them somewhere more useful.

Let's have more nuclear power. Stop wasting fossil fuels they're too valuable as chemicals to burn.

Are YOU using solar power? How many trees have YOU planted?

Don't tell people what to do unless you are doing it too. Lead by example. We have enough sanctimonious twits in the world that say one thing and do another. Don't be one of them.

Don't hurt his friend the tree's feelings.

His tree might not talk to him again.

Hey don't mock the trees, without them waving their branches to make the wind how would all those wind farms work?
Powerful fellows trees, they give us plenty of funky stuff, rubber, toxins, asprin.
Wood is probably the most versatile easilly worked material in the world, not many civilisations manage without wood.

(I do really understand how the winds are generated)

Another way would be to use junk mail as a fuel source. At last! A use for all those unwanted leaflets!
