VFD uses the principle of varying the frequency. as in motors slip speed ,Ns=120F/P, the only thing we can change is frequency as poles are built up, even though By changing the frequency i.e. reducing it we reduce the speed, hence torque & hence the current drawn. Thus reducing the power consumption.using VFD we can reduce the power consumption

How and why?

Or do you want to know if you can do energy metering on a VFD system ?

DG,

Do you want to record less value of power against actually used ???

A Good Thinking !!!!!

Not from the viewpoint of the utility you are stealing from!

My location "Not far from the Major Oak" robbing the rich seems fair enough to me!

Trouble is, your neighbors get robbed, not the rich. Costs are added to the rate base for all users.

This reminds me of the person who wanted us to tell him how to hack into his neighbor's WiFi so he didn't have to buy his own.

BTW: may be the OP wanted it other way round "Use of Energy meters in VFD" ?

Maybe he did, but we can only take things at face value. OK we get a bit of fun out of it in the process.
