An Orsat apparatus is an arrangment of lab glassware that allows you to raise and lower a bottle to move the sample through one or more reagents that selectively absorb the various gases of interest. After each step you you equalize the level and pressure of the bottle with those of the remaining sample in a finely graduated cylinder. If you Google "Orsat" you should be able to find some pictures.
