Pressure of Main Steam Stop Valve

Main steam line Pressure is 69 kg/cm^2.What is the set pressure of the Main steam stop valve and why ?

Because we don't know what system you are referring to we can not give you a set pressure. Each system is different.

A pressure relief valve would have a set pressure somewhat higher than the maximum steam pressure, but less than the pressure rating of the associated pipes and vessels. A stop valve would not have a set pressure, but it would have a pressure rating (accounting for temperature) somewhat higher than the pressure relief valve setting.

"Somewhat higher" may depend on local piping code requirements, such as a factor of 1.25 or thereabouts.

As per my friend Tornado - A stop valve would not have a set pressure, but it would have a pressure rating (accounting for temperature) somewhat higher than the pressure relief valve setting

. He is right .

A stop valve 1.5 times the line pressure is suitable but you have to seek your piping codes and advice of your consultant.
