Increasing Fire System Header Pressure

10/13/2010 8:53 AM

Hi all,

I am working in a company having fire system consist of five main fire pumps and three jockey (booster) pumps. the current fire line header pressure is maintained at 120 psi.

what should i change in the system to increase the header pressure to 170 psi. is changing the discharge pressure and flow of the jockey pump can bring the header pressure to our requirement?

Thanks

Is your system rated at 170 psi?

You'll need to make something bigger, but I'm not qualified to design fire suppression systems. You need a qualified engineer who is willing to accept responsibility for the decisions they make.

Don't go the cheap way. Lives may depend on this system.
