Oh, how about:

  • Look it up on the P&ID via the annotated Piping Specification for the line.
  • Look it up on the Commissioning Engineer's installation and pressure testing report forms for the line.
  • Look it up in the Validation Technician's Installation Qualification document, if it is in a pharmaceutical factory.
  • Etc., etc.

An ultrasonic thickness detector, perhaps.

For what you need this information. Are you going to replace the existing pipe, then only re-calculates it and replace. There is no point where you have access to a flange where you could check the rating?

The flange is 1-1/2'' and class 150

does this have a relation with pipe schedule?

If the the flange is Welding Neck, you can read the sch on it; because, most flange manufacturer stamp the sch on it, you can assume that the pipe have the same sch unless you are in pressence of high low welding.

Yes, go to ASME B31-3 Chapter II.

Wherever, normally, you must have there, Sch 40 (Acocording B35-10 t= 3.68mm) Or STD (According to API 5L t=3.68 mm) for pipe.

Is there are way you can take a sample of the pipe in question? What I mean by that is can you possibly cut a section off then take it to a piping distributer then match it up to what they have in stock.

Just a thought.
