I want to know about rubber rods connected to rubber plates instead of using plastic rods connected to plastic plates. These rubber rods and rubber plates can be inserted inside a mold with the plate at the top of the mold and the rod protruding out of a hole at the roof of the mold. Then one can fill the mold with wet sand and place on the beach so that the mold is upside down. By pushing down on the rod and lifting the mold upward one can obtain a formation of sand - be it a rectangular , cylinder, or whatever. This could be helpful for making sand castles. I have tried this before with plastic rods and plastic plates but they all broke.
I first started all of this by going to the library and looking up castles. I then did a drawing of my own and sent a request to some one (it was so long ago I forgot who). Whoever I sent it to went ahead and developed some molds based upon my drawing. I tried out the molds with a friend and took pictures (I have since lost them.) The resulting sand castle seemed OK. However the push rods broke off from the plates and I had to tape them together. Not too good. I thought about it and then decided to try to go to rubber rods and plates which of course are all one piece. Now I am thinking about snap ons.
When I first started this I went to a patent attorney to see if I could get a patent. I latter found out that many people have thought of sand molds and I have a full binder of all this. Since this idea is mine about using rubber rods and plates I do think I would have rights to anything which could be a new patent. However I certainly would be glad to share anything with anybody that could help. Actually I do not think this patent idea would ever come about since so many people have come up with new ideas. The sand molds now just sit in the garage.
Once in awhile I get inspired and talk about my great idea, I do believe most people get a little bored however. For quite awhile we had a computer specialist come to our home and instruct us on the computer. I have taken pictures of the sand molds showing walls, stairs to the turret, towers, just plain rectangular shapes, etc. So I have gotten some expertise in sending pictures of sand castle molds, broken rods and plates, original drawing, etc. I just play around with this idea and am probably wasting time contacting places such as one in China where I seem not always able to send them back a message. I am not about ready to manufacture and spend a lot of time with all this. One time I went to a company where they did injecting molding, showed them the wooden models used to make plastic molds, etc. and some what got turned off in continuing. It is expensive. But what is there to lose in sharing my experience. with someone who knows what he is doing. I now have to get back to what I am going to do the rest of the day. My wife and I are going to the Stanford - Arizona game. So I have to get going. Yours truly, Heidi (my user name) I could give you my real name if needed.
PS I would like to get some insight on this idea. I have gotten a few from GENERAL but I would prefer to get some discussion from a Civil Engineer. This is a very minor project of course and it is some what of a hobby. Most people get bored with all of this.
