Buckling Calculation of Cone Storage Tank

11/14/2010 6:47 PM

buckling calculation of cone storage tank on desalination system that has 1 meter height of earth and circular tank connected with a conical tank which is the conical opening with diameter 25cm and welded with cylindrical shape which also connected with other cylindrical that contain fan to accelerate ther flow of vapor

the important thing for me is calculation of the buckling for the cone which has atmosphere pressure from outside and vacuum pressure from inside

That's a bit hard to understand--too much irrelevant material and too little necessary information. If it can be rephrased along these lines:

For a cone of <material>, 25cm diameter on one end, <diameter> on other end, and axial <length>, what thickness of material will resist buckling from <how much vacuum> inside and atmospheric pressure outside?

Agreed, and what hss "1 meter height of earth" to do with it? What is a "conical opening"? And a cone doesn't have just one diameter.

Have you been assigned to do this work, and now you are assigning it to others ?

You will probably get exactly what you pay for.

There are standards for this sort of thing. To which one is it being designed, please?

If there is a vacuum applied to this structure, what else is in it, and at what temperature?
