hello every body. yesterday I asked question and I got reply from some and others said they did not understand what I mean I will repeat for them my question again .

one said I have to ask for help in english I will said to him sorry I Know what I want to write may be it is difficult for you to understand so you need to ask for help in english

in power plant there is a chemical plant and of course they used acid (H2SO4) and there is acid unloading pump and inside the pump there are permenent magnetic plate connected with the impler and one is outside the pump with the shaft of the motor .

why they are using magnetic to rotate the I mpler and did not use the motor shaft direct coupling with the impler

It's so that there is no shaft seal for the acid to leak through when something goes wrong.

Magnetically-coupled pumps are ideal for agressive liquids handling, and are widely available.

This is to prevent leakage of corrosive, toxic, or highly valuable fluids through what would otherwise be a shaft seal or packing. The pump impeller is inside a "can" and has magnets built into it. The motor drives a matching array of magnets outside the can.
