where the tap point for level transmiter on the open tank (h -l)

Should be located minimum 3" from the bottom plates according to the API-650

If the nozzle opening requires reinforcing, then the 'C' dimension is 3" from the bottom to the lower edge of the reinforcing plate:

Hi,

The bottom pressure tap(high side) needs to be located at the datum point or the point that you want to measure level from(zero level).

If is an open tank, no top pressure tap connection is necessary, simply vent the low side of the D/P level transmitter to atmosphere.

Ah! For a differential pressure transmitter used on level? Please clarify, for an ultrasonic one doesn't need a process connection if the tank is open....
