I have registered / joined CR4 and want to take part in discussion / problems solving, etc. I am mechanical engineer by profession and is presently working as Assoc. Gen. Manager with one of the non-ferrous manufacturing leading organization in the world.
We have vibro-feeder installed in Sinter Plant through which required hot sinter is fed in the spike roll crusher for further process. Following are the details
- Temperature of sinter is in the range of 800 to 1000°C.
- Trough receives hot sinter continuously through a stone box from a height of 1m.
- Troughs are in 3 parts which are assembled in overlapping condition.
Problem: Trough gets distorted, crack gets developed, plate gets buckled within 2 to 3 months due to continuous exposed to heat & thermal shocks.
We have used troughs with following material of construction (MOC) but never received life more than 2 to 3 months resulting in downtime of plant.
- DIN 13CrMo44
- ASTM A3 87 M 92 Gr.12, Class 2
- SS 310
- SS 310S
I am looking forward for a suitable MOC of trough which can withstand thermal shocks and at least give a life of two years without any problem with above working condition.
