Looking for Spring/Bolt Combo

11/29/2010 3:23 PM

Ok, I'm having a bit of a "Senior Moment" and can't remember the name for this part. It resembles a coil spring in the center, and each end of said spring contains a screw half (machine thread). The "spring bolt" is used as a flexible mounting device, so the load can shift in most directions, but will return to the natural place of spring rest.

It reminds me of the door stops I used to see as a kid in hotels, where you could step on them and they would make a "twang" noise as they snapped back into place (but instead of a door stop end and a wood screw end, these have machine screw ends on both sides).

Any ideas on where to look?

Thanks

Chris

Ask the OP what he wants to do with them.

I have a group of targets that the client wants mounted across a pole. My supervisor wants to use these spring mounts behind the targets to mount to a steel pole. The targets are going to be "shot at" with a soccer ball (kicked).

I know there are better ways to do this, I'm just trying to find the pieces my supervisor has asked me to find ;-)
