Videos for Training About the Modern Car

12/13/2010 10:27 AM

Hi Guys Your Help please,

I am looking for links to really good training videos i can download about the modern car.

I would like videos highlighting how the various parts of the car work.

Videos of inside working IC engines, etc.

Multi point injection sequential injection, etc.

Some basic videos for my students who are new this line of work.

Some of my new students are main line education drop outs, But i have found they have the ability to understand mechanical principles.

Possibly because they are interested in this field.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Maybe yesyen has something on this?

If such videos are hard to find, it could be your class's golden opportunity to make some.

it would be difficult for a class with no experience of the subject to make a video on the subject, also there would be the need for expensive video equipment and editing soft ware.

the site you have suggested is more aimed at general engineering and not vehicles

But thanks anyway

this is the sort of site i was thinking about

Hi, I have always found howstuffworks.com to be very helpful. More animation than video but covers very modern components and I think it does a very good job, take a look. Hope it helps!

trust me Youtube has the answer, it is ALL ther. it is only mather of how you look there. Also you could go to school, there's a reason why schools exist. i'm just saying.

thanks but where do you think the schools get their videos from, yes they buy them but i dont have the funds for that but i am still expected to train people.

the class i have are the so called school rejects who are not very good with paper work but can i feel learn with the aid of videos.

i know this because when i left school the system had given up on me but i found my niche in motor vehicles and find learning by videos an excellent way to learn, and so i thought i would try and give these kids a chance that the school system wont give them.

ok good luck. BBC, Discovery. or the ministry of education. there must be some guidelines for this thing. tho it is not mainstream teaching. (off system) http://www.learn4good.com/great_technical_colleges/colleges_uk.htm

Found this site & only had a quick look but it seems that it has stuff that you could use.

It looks like the videos are stored on YouTube & you can get various free YouTube downloaders if you want to keep the videos. You could also use a programme like CaptureWiz which will record anything that appears on your computer.
