MCC = Motor Control Center, a group of motor starters and other associated industrial appurtenances fed by a common bus bar system.

Mimic Panel is typically referring to a large graphics display panel typically used to display the status of a large process system at one glance. Sometimes it is part of a Control Panel and / or associated with an MCC, sometimes not.

Control Panel = a generic term for a collection of control devices in an enclosure, such as individual motor starters, relays, PLCs, timers, process controls, pilot devices etc. etc. etc.

It's possible that the answer to the question may well have emerged over the <...months now...>.

Nicely illustrated. An MCC or an Industrial Control Panel (as in photo 3) would typically contain devices that switch full motor voltage and current. A Mimic Panel usually would not, and might even be display only.

These terms might not be precise and uniform around the world, but JRaef's description lines up well with American usage of terms.

Good answer JRaef and rockraiden, only I like to add an obvious sample of mimic panel.

Hi,

MCC - Motor Control Centre. Panels containing contactor over loads and CT's for current reading's

Mimic Panel - A HMI or SCADA screen displaying the plant it controls.

Control Panel - An enclosure housing all the field controls ie: PLC's, relays, drives etc.

Hope this helps.
