The difference is precisely described in your lecture notes. I'll give you a couple of hints. One is easier to calculate than the other. Also, the type of motion for each is different.

Steam and vapor first, now inertia and mass moment. These aren't even good questions.

Do your own homework you lazy bum!

First it was Thermodynamics, then Statics. I guess English Comp. will be next.

Actually, I think we all could benefit from that. ;-)

I'll take a stab at it:

Inertia is the opposition of a body to change its direction of movement.

The moment of inertia is the opposition of that same body to change its direction but from an axis displaced from the line of motion of the body.

I read it in my M-W.

Difference between inertia and mass moment of inertia

Inertia is the quantum state of your mind.

Mass moment of inertia is the collective sum of nuerons you activated to initiate this post.

Have a go at this googled response..

difference between inertia and mass moment of inertia

If this were a question, which it is not, the answer would be yes.

If moment of inertia is when the occupant of the bed turns off the alarm clock and has another half hour, then mass moment of inertia is when the same thing happens to the entire class...

No it's when the sermon is over and the congregation finds out that their legs have gone to sleep.
