Need Fluent Software

I am a undergraduate of engineering. In my final year project I need to do wind turbine design and analyze. I heard about software use to archive it. I need software called. GAMBIT & FLUENT. I need newer version. I have windows 7 os. I want to It will support it or not.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear that you cannot find a source for Fluent or Gambit software. I wonder why you didn't get these programs from your school. With this being your senior year design, you likely have some constraints on what pre-packaged software you can use. Some project advisors like to see all of the design equations and theory coming from the student instead of from an unknown team of programmers.

Greatly appreciated Ur wormy reply.

I know it is hard to believe that I doesn't know about the fluent software. I download many more fluent packs but None of them worked. We not much go though the CFD analysis in our degree programme. I select this project for my own interest. That is why I have much more difficulties to move though it thanks a lot. I am looking crack version. I still have some of them. But not working.

Thanks for Ur sharing..

With regards,

Asitha

Both of these are quite expensive, I think. Since you are an undergraduate and probably under a budget, I would suggest an Open Source solution such as OpenFOAM.

I have this loaded on a Ubuntu OS hard drive on my 64-bit dual-core machine. I also have a Win7 hard drive.

I looked on OpenFOAM's web site, but couldn't find out if the software will install under Win7, but I'm pretty sure it will, since it is C++-based.

Best thing is it's free. Since it's open source, there will be a lot of work involved in learning how to use it. (But that's what you expected when you decided on pursuing a degree, right?)

Hey Mikerho You give me helpful hands once again,

there are more software to use for the design and analyzing. But the is few of our lecture are there mastered in the Fluent software only. That is why I looking for Fluent.

It helps to me. I looking forward from it.

I guess I don't understand the need for CFD. There are plenty of typical blade designs that you can obtain information on. There is still plenty of analysis left to design it to meet some specification and surely meet the requirements of a senior design project.

The intent is to show you know how to go through the design process (typically) and apply some of the knowledge you were supposed to have learned, not to show you can invent something new and improved.

In fact, why not compare a few different sections? It will you can show you compared alternatives and, through whatever decision criteria you come up with (weighted cost, efficiency, noise, etc), opted for the best fit design. Engineering is as much about making rational decisions and weighing options as it is about doing analysis.

Using software to do a design only proves you can use software.

I'm giving you a VGA (Very Good Answer).

The overall theme of your post embodies the basis for engineering: Weighing design costs and economic benefit of said costs.

You looked behind the OP's stated question and reminded OP (and me as well) of the importance of applying fundamental engineering principles.
