Motorcycle Safety

01/05/2011 10:42 AM

There have been a few threads on CR4 concerning motorcycle safety, or lack thereof. Unfortunately I wasn't able to locate the specific one I wanted to drop this link into.

So I will just put this here.

Modern technology it seems has finally made a crash proof motorcycle and you can see it here.

A perfect example of the old rule that as soon as you make something idiot proof, the world comes up with a better idiot.

Sweet

All snarky comments aside, I do hope that the fool is OK.

I wonder why they didn't show us the helmet download?

Yes, he's OK. He wasn't involved in the crash.

At 1:16, the cycle changes to a box.

It will be a long time before a video system can recognize a driver's glance or lack of glance from 150 feet.

I'm glad to see that this was apparently staged and that nobody actually got hurt.

It was just a little too perfect a case of irony. He's still a fool but not a fool to be pitied. He's a brilliantly executed version of a slapstick fool.

Look, this is all very simple.

1. Car / truck drivers are idiots.

2. Motorcycle / bicycle riders are idiots.

3. Winner takes all.

And before you ask, unicycle riders are half-wits.

Bad idea!

Even before he got smacked, I was wondering if it was a good idea to have a display in his face................NOT!!!!!!

The reason I know, is that I was riding one time with a full face helmet on..........a freaking wasp hit me in the chest and bounced up inside the front of the helmet. Long story, short, it was impossible to watch the wasp walking around on the inside of my face shield and the road too.

I wonder if they showed that at the investors meeting of the new system.

I'm fairly sure that was posted in Chris's bike accident thread

It's a long, but good read
