Psi, presentiment, Dean Radin ,Dick Bierman. Any views?

01/15/2011 8:00 AM

A professor Bierman has been doing experiments on a subject called presentiment. This is sensing things before they happen in a way that looks like psi. This experiment has been talked about (and I think first invented) by dean radin . It seems like a simple experiment to replicate or disprove. It can be seen in the second clip below from youtube (not english language,I could not find english version) I would be interested in anyones views. Bierman is in wales in the uk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biPJJD4DFlU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo_D1ee5DNY also dean radin talks about this ,and lots of other things, in this hour or so long presentation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw_O9Qiwqew

(I'm just a schizophrenc who can't decide.) Although I actually can. Would you perhaps like to ask a legitimate question instead?

I know what USBport thinks about the subject. I knew before you posted your question and before USBport read it.

Indian upbringing encourages belief in paranormal, supernatural and occult occurrences even among scientists and engineers....so yes, i believe in presentiment. Sadly, more in premonition if i may split hairs here, implying an imminent misfortune.

Is this is a slight time-warp as Biermann says ? Or is it a collection of subliminal signals that the brain cannot exactly interpret, but manifests as an overall uneasiness ?

Maybe as human beings evolve over a few centuries, telepathy will become the normal mode of communication and presentiment/premonition will be a part of life.

i did not know i would say this, by the way

kvsridhar, I have long suspected psi to be real. I had a very odd predictive dream several years ago. It was not to do with subliminal perception or cryptomnesia or anything else. It really did seem like seeing around corners . But its hard to trust a single experience of my own given possibilities like retrospective alteration of memory and such like. Hence an interest in experiments being done. Thanks for posting. david

Captmoosie, When I read the interesting things you wrote about your seeing ufos I was openminded. Such things may well exist. They could be from other worlds or other dimensions or other times or maybe some strange group psychological phenomina so far not classified. In saying such things could be...I am not saying that they certainly are. Why not the same with psi? Why close close the door in so final a way? david

Someone changed how I signed my original post. I wrote "david in wales in the uk" and it was changed to "bierman is in wales in the uk" You can see what I originally posted because usbport reposted my post. Who can change posts?

Dear David in Wales UK,

You're absolutely correct as I should have been more open minded about Presentiment. I suppose I didn't get too much sleep last night and was a grumpy old SOB. My apologies to everyone.

I'll have to do more research on the matter....

BTW, my maternal Grandmother's family cames from Wales. My current wife's family, is 1st Gen American born Irish here. She has family living throughout Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the UK proper...her mom came from a family of 15 kids! Anyhow, someday I'd like to visit Wales as I hear it's quite beautiful. I've been throughout more of the UK, but never got to Wales. Any suggestions very much welcomed as to where to visit, and I do not mean the usual tourist traps either....like to explore the land, people and local custom on my own without being led by the nose by some tour guide! The Mrs. and I are planning on a Grand Tour of the British Isles this upcoming spring on our 10th Anniversary as our present to one another! *GRINZ*

captmoosie, Truth is that I dont know Wales very well. I was brought up in grim Halifax which is a post industrial town in the north of England. All old mills. I came to Wales to university and ended up staying since its out of the way. I often walk by along coastal paths in mid wales near Aberystwyth. Yesterday for example it was really muddy and the whole feel of the experience was, wind, mud, unhappy looking sky, isolation , mud, seagulls, sheep running off, mud. I came back muddy and feeling terrific.
