PWHT of TMCP Treated P460 ML1

01/19/2011 1:43 AM

Dear All,

Design code ASME sec viii, div 1,

Pig trap barrel material P460 ML1 (TMCP treated) , Thickness 40mm
welded to
A765 End closure, Thickness 60mm,

Since CE value of P460 ML1 is 0.46% and design code mandate PWHT with nominal thickness (40mm),

Can somebody give me an insight of PWHT effect on P460 ML1 mechanical properties and appropriate PWHT temperature?

Regards
Manpreet Singh

If it's urgent, rather than wait for a CR4 reader to respond, try talking to a local metallurgist, perhaps?

Well, this is not what I expected, since all my previous queries has been responded well.

As a QC Engineer, I needed this information in order to review the WPS/PQR, also the question asked is with regards to general "effect of PWHT on TMCP treated material", If somebody have comments, Please help me.

Regards

Manpreet Singh
