You forgot to post the concept to the forum on a cheaper solar system and I am looking for someone who can create a schematic as well as draw a picture that I can download to my site. The schematic would have to be one that a construction contractor could build a ship from. He only details I have are listed in the Bible Genesis chapter 6:14 thru end of chapter. Thanks

Perhaps I can re-phrase your question for all those short tempered people out there....let me know if I got it right!

"Would it be possible to make a cheap solar panel system, and if so, would it be "green".

Would its manufacture be "green", (more energy out of it then it would consume in making it".

By cheap, that would mean much lower in cost to build than existing solar panels, and put out useable energy.

This is a question that, although important, is posted in the wrong place. This is not ask jeeves. The only way to keep the forum valuable to "engineering discussions" is to ignore these kind of posts. I try, but also get annoyed.

As soon as you finish your pv system, there is very good info on how to build a house for much less than you can buy one. Must have free labor, a total disregard for safety, UL ratings, NEC code compliance. Must also avoid building permits and inspectors, and be able to master simple electronics engineering concepts. It helps to be handy with structural components, glass, aluminum, fuses, diodes, all types of wire and cable, and to have some experience with high voltage. It's easy!

Check with Jameco Electronics. They have a DIY solar panel kit + a video showing how to assemble it.
