I have a power fault as a result of wrong connection due to connection of the circiut throught the earth wire, what component could be affected?

The power circiut is a SMPS for sharp airconditioner model AU-18LEV.

can you elucidate actually what led to your power fault? you have said that it happened due to connection of the circuit through the earth wire? may be you have connected the line supply directly to the earth wire by mistake.

It is very likely that he has earth leakage trip due to load connected to earth in place of live to neutral. This will not damage anything except for earth relay tripping the mains power.

Most of the time when I miswire electric power to a device, it becomes clearly obvious which parts failed. The parts either burn or explode. If you are very lucky you'll find in many Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS?) that there is an internal fuse that may have sacrificed itself to save the rest of the circuit. I'd start by replacing this circuit protection device. If you don't know what a fuse looks like, or SMPS is a different acronym, or you cannot describe this air-conditioner circuit with better clarity because you don't know what you're looking at; then put the tools down. You are not qualified to do this work. Hire somebody to help you. This will be cheaper that toasting up a second air-conditioner.

The human.

Disconnecting the energised earth wire exposes this component to the possibility of an electric shock. If the voltage is high enough, burns or electrocution could ensue.

This type of situation usually results in the failure of the component that normally keeps the smoke from escaping.

From the model it appears that it is 1.5 TR capacity split a.c. Cheek the wiring diagram provided along with the unit installation manual. Control circuits consist of many internal protection devices. Most likely fuse must have blown out . Check it .

The SMPS cannot be repaired most the time, but the common fault is the capacitor of 240V or 130 V depend of country you are. Check if capacitor can charge and discharge by using 9v battery.

The last Guest said, "Capcitors Short."

A high current short will, usually, blow out he end of an electrolytic, toast a Tantillum, or vaporize a cermic.

This is a type of "Crowbar" circuit which removed B+ from the circuit, catostrophically. Once the fuse is replaced, it may not blow, again. This could be very hazardous to your health.

If you must troubleshoot the device, use plastic wands and rubber gloves. Welder's Flash Gloasses may also help.

Good Luck in the contest

Seriously, did you check the breaker? That should have been the first thing to go in a straight ground fault.
