Measurement ms Thickness vs Weight

i want to know thickness vs weight of ms plates

suppose 2 metre x 2metre ms plate with thickness of 5mm what is the wt of plate .

if u have i want chart about that details. thanking you

There is a little variation in mild steel density, but it's about 0.295 lb/cu in. You do the conversions and math.

Exactly. But as he's clearly a metric person, I'd add density is 8000 kg/m3 as near as dammit.

My dear,

No need to charts or tables to calculate the weight. The solution is very simple. Only see the following equation to calculate the weight :

Weight of plate in Kg = Volume of plate in m3 x Metal density in kg/m3

= [(Plate length in m) x (Plate width in m) x (Plate thickness in m)]x (Metal density in Kg/m3)

= (2 m) x (2 m) x (5 mm = 0.005 m) x (7850 Kg/m3)

= (0.02 m3) x (7850 Kg/m3)

= 157 Kg

[Legend : m = meter, m3 = cubic meter, mm = millimeter & Kg = Kilogram]
