If it survives the experience, then it's like a cat: one life down and eight to go.....

Usually, one takes it to a certified test station or has a test station with approved personnel and test sources and instruments on the site. Since an mcb can break 10 kA or more at 415/240V such equipment is costly.

Hi, Hithuanand, I hope you are well!

190 amp hour gas turbine starter battery - about 2 kA short circuit. BIG battery or 300 kVA 415/240V transfo needed for mcb tests Would your arc furnace transfo do? With fee to Guest as "foreigner", as it was called when I was an apprentice?

Yeah i am fine...Thank you. Guest can connect more then seven MCBs at a time in arc furnace here. But i don't think the charge man will be happy with that.

From my experience of furnaces would the charge man even notice the slight bang as a MCB exploded?

I've only worked on induction furnaces though.
