Pressure Exerted at 500m Sea Depth

Can anyone please tell me the pressure exerted on an object at 500 mtr below sea level. Please let me know in bar.g and if possible the formula on how arrived to that value

Pbarg ≈ 0.0997 dmeters, d being depth. 500 x 0.0997 ≈ 49.85 barg (possibly with a slight temperature correction).

As a quick rule of thumb for every 10m you go down the pressure increases approximately 1 atm.

So 500m ≈ 50atm ≈ 50 bar

Answer in Pascals so you'll have to convert it to whatever you want.

I'd like to make comment on your quote though even I consider this an off topic " nothing is impossible". To remind you, Impossibility is well defined in the science of mechanical engineering. This is the second law of thermodynamics - the all time villain for disordered physicists.

I am open for a debate if you like.

well i do agree with you. there are many theoretically and practically impossible elements in this universe ........ the quote is just about attitude about being positive and optimist in all approaches and walks of life........nothing scientific......

i wouldn't mind a healthy debate though
