I think you are going for the old adage that current is what kills you, not voltage.

Well...enough of either is deadly...so take your pick.

So I did I walk away from a 500KV shock?

(trick question, but the shock was real)

If I lived, I think I would have crawled.

Here is a question for you, I have been in contact with voltage sources exceeding 1 million volts and current sources exceeding a few thousand amps and I am still alive. How is it possible do you think?

Have a look at previous threads on CR4 as this is a commonly asked (and answered) question.

Oh the joys of working in an electrical test laboratory.

Here is mine: It was a fully charged Van der Graph generator. I've got long hair, I looked like a member of the hair bear bunch, if your old enough to remember them.

I have limped away from a 10KV AC shock. (10KV to earth). I went flying across the floor. Saved by a 4" thick wooden floor and wooden stepladders. All down to an incorrectly labelled CB.

As I have increased the size of my Tesla coils, I have found a great respect for the increased voltage level from the secondary. It really doesn't matter if it is still relatively low current, it hurts like hell and has made me very safety conscious. No one gets to hold the fluorescent tube close to the business end of the coil anymore.

It reminds me of a question someone asked regarding IT system on ship : what happen if someone touch a live wire? will you be electrocuted, or only get shocked (or nothing at all).

Simple really... with respect to a shock, you can't have one without the other, voltage and current that is.
