rail wear overhead crane

03/29/2011 3:06 PM

I want to know the numerical values of the acceptable wear on a rail of overhead crane? Where can we find it and which are these values?

Thank you!

I have excessive wear on a 135 lb/yd rail

It depends upon the intervals at which the rail is supported, what the gross weight of the crane is including maximum load, how many wheels are in use and what the wheel profile is, none of which has been stated so far.

How has the condition "acceptable wear" been evaluated, and what are these values?

What does the Engineer/Surveyor for the company providing crane collapse indemnity insurance cover have to say on the subject? What is the rate of deterioration of the crane based upon the inspection reports in the facility's General Register?

The crane have 8 wheels 4 by side and 2 x 2 by end truck. Nobody know what is acceptable or not.
