Electronic Circuit Drawing

04/11/2011 4:54 AM

my workmates and i have designed a one tonne bag heat sealer, the problem is how to draw the electronic circuit considering that there are 2 pnuematic cylinders controlled by a 5/2 way single acting solenoid, a PT100 RTD controlled by an on/off controller, 2 circuit breakers ie 20Amp & 5Amp, a relay,a timer and a contactor. the real problem is how to wire those components for the machine to work.

I think the real problem is to describe this system more completely and correctly.

What's wrong with a CAD package and MS Word?

You don'y need to use schematic capture if you are not making a PC board.

Think of it in terms of requirements and how to capture those requirements in a concise, build-able, testable way that describes the system.

Start with the highest level requirements (what to build) and devolve it down to the low level requirements (how to build).

[ Or are you looking for some engineers to design the system for you?

How do you intend to build this thing if you can't even draw the circuit? The components you list would be an easy draw for an electronics student in his first month of school.

1. Where's your heat?

2. Why do you need a circuit diagram?

3. I assume you are using existing shop air?

4. Just hook it up!

Check out the above link. I've used it everyday for 4 years now. It' simple and it's free! Come back with additional info like others have stated. The little you gave is not nearly enough to consider answering intelligently.

Write a description of how it is supposed to work. First.

Then design the circuit to do exactly what it says in the description.

Wassa problem?

I don't quite think you're at a point were you can claim you've "designed" this. It sound's more like a concept and a list of components you intend to use. I'd make sure the part of your machine that actually will form a seal works first. After you're confident you have the right amount of heat and contact time work backwards from there to make everything work in time.

Do you have a prototype that works but you just can't figure out how to draw up the circuit in front of you? It sounds like it hasn't been built yet and you'd like CR4 to do your homework for you.
