Too many variables are missing from this description to formulate a fully informed reply.

I haven't run any numbers lately, but as a wild guess I estimate that diesel generation costs US$ 0.20-0.30/kwh, and that utilities bill it out US$ 0.30-0.50, or even more. (As in Juneau, AK, USA last year when an avalanche destroyed a hydro transmission line, forcing the city to use diesel gensets.)

Sounds like some of the recent CR4 Challenge Questions. ;-)

Agreed. Admittedly it can be tricky to compose a question that distinguishes what is assumed or relevant vs. what is not. Some editorial review might be good.

Wikipedia is a good source of free information. They've already done most of the work for you, so you still don't have to put forth any effort.

The cost is related to the rate of consumption of fuel, the intervals between tank refills and the price of the fuel on those occasions. It is also related to the price of the generator and its future disposal value, if any, or the hire cost, and the start date and end date.

Those numbers cannot be seen from here.

Righto! As I was looking, recently, to buy a diesel generator, I noticed that many manufacturers post the number of gallons of fuel per hour at half load. Probably OP was looking for an answer, or two in order to make the average.
