Need Engineer Help.

04/16/2011 10:16 AM

Heloo all,

You may remember this thread about a 50Hz syncronous motor that ran too fast,

http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/66987

How we after disescting the motor determined it was a wrong ratio gearbox.

The company, (china) also agreed that yes this motor will not work in my clock. They clearly admit it. And have said so in a few e-mails.

But now that it has been learned that it is no good and it is not as advertised on their web page as a 1 rpm motor, now that this is determined as being true, and I have asked for refund. Now all my corespondence has fallen on deaf ears. not a single reply.

So i went to pay-pal to file a dispute, and get my money back that way. but they have to be the most lame people.

I gave them all the evidense, and I even gave them the e mails directly from the motor manufacturer where they agree and say that yes the motor is NOT a 1 rpm motor as advertised. This ir right from them with them saying yes it is NOT 1 rpm and it will not work in my clock, this is right from the company that made the motor and the people I paid my money to.

but stinking pay-pal keeps sending me this,

In order to revisit your dispute, please provide the following information: A second opinion (in writing) from a qualified expert stating that the item you received doesn't match the original product description. Ask the expert to explain what's wrong with the item and how it differs from what you originally ordered. The written opinion should be on the expert's letterhead, include the date, state the expert's years of experience in their field, and be signed by the expert. Also, please ask the expert to provide copies of their credentials (for example, a copy of the expert's license in the field or a copy of their business card).

and again I replied with,

Now why should I have to get a second opinion when the manufacturer themselves, the people I paid the money to, they themselves say it is NOT what it is as shown on the web site.

HELLO?

The actual manufacturer agrees and states that the motor is NOT what it says it is., How clear can that be? why would anyone need a second opinion, when the people that actually make the motor say themselves that is it not what they are selling it as?

hello?

why is this this hard? They said it themselves. but being chinese they are now blowing me off thinking I'll just go away and not ask for the refund.

But THEY THE MAKERS OF THE MOTOR THEMSELVES, THE PEOPLE I BOUGHT THEM FROM SAY THAT IT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED AND AGREE THAT THIS IS SO. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM HERE?

Joe Mayenschein

so, anyone here care to help me out here? Looking at that old thread, for all the information, and how it was determined to be made with the wrong ratio gear box, anyone here can do me a big favor and on your as paypal requests make up a second opinion for me? on your letterhead, etc. like all the stuff they are asking for.

anyone? Please?

Joe

How many motors did you buy? (I.e., how much money is at stake?)

(I'm not looking to get paid, I'd just like to know how much is at stake. Plus, I'm not sure I could dig up appropriate credentials (I am a BSEE with 30+ years experience.)

I'm more inclined just to campaign against PayPal in some manner--this is another of the many stories I hear about problems with PayPal--people haviing their accounts frozen, etc., etc., etc.

It's not a lot of money, especially for any business they'd probably also blow it off. $150 bucks.

But to me it's a LOT of money, I am now disabled, and our wonderful fed's declined disability, as they do for most people that apply, so this is my only income right now. I make about a total of maybe 500 to 600 a month in profits so it isn't much. But it's keeping me alive and a roof over my head so while 150 isn't much to me it's a LOT!!!

These are the 2 reasons I won't deal with China or paypal when I am buying components. It is almost impossible to find components in this Country. You need to deal with a distributor in the US in order to have any protection. And there are fewer of them than ever now a days. And I refuse to deal with Paypal at all. I hope you can find a friend that can give you the paper trail they are requiring so you can get your money back.

Sorry for your loss. I'll just add your story to the ever growing pile of stories about people I know who have been burned in a Chinese deal.

Don't deal with Chinese companys.

Give them a REALLY bad rating on ebay (if that is where you bought it.) That may fix the whole problem.

Chinese firms see it as a "fight", them against the rest of the world!!!!

Yeah like there is a big demand for a 220 volt 50 Hz 1.03 rpm motor.

If it was 12VDC I wold buy it. I need a 1 RPM motor for my tele. Has to be 12VDC though. Atually a .5 Rpm would be better.

How strong does this motor need to be.

I may know of one that would be perfect for you.
