I don't think there is any universal color code for electrical conductors or piping, either one. A lot depends on local regulations and customs.

Every country is different in the USA for pipe lines in structures it's set by NFPA. Colors are to identify the hazard of the gas or liquid. You need to get the codes for country that your work is in.

Maybe it's good that color codes are not uniform; I certainly wouldn't want to use that one. Green = sewer; are you kidding or are you f***ing kidding?

This may be a historical/cultural thing. In the days of outdoor privies, no one wanted to go there in the middle of the night, so chamber pots were used. These were also called "honey buckets." ( Some inverse psychology there.) In the U.S., one of the portable chemical toilet manufacturers uses the brand name "Honey Bucket."

Those are color for marking not for the paint code. I mean here about the material color code.

e.g RED for fire water pipe. Am I correct? It is a general understading.

In our area PVC sprinkler system pipes are orange, otherwise they are black (iron) pipe. I am not up on it enough to know what color PEX sprinkler system pipes are.

Being in Vietnam, I assume that color coding of pipes would be heavily influenced by the French. Does anyone know French standards?
