energymeter calculation

what is the procedure to get power consuption of blower if there is energy meter installed.in my plant i have to calculate power consumption of blower n energymeter is installed.others hav noted only readings shown on to display of energ. daily.bt sum tim they hav noted instant value n sumtime from d relay

Average energy consumption rate is the difference in the two readings divided by the time interval between them.

ENERGY is power over time. Instantaneous readings would be power ONLY. They are different entities.

Install a power analyser and record Watts during a period of either 08 or 24 hrs,from which you can get minimum,average and maximum power consumed.

If energy meter is installed for your blower. Then, see the Multiplying Factor (MF) on Energy Meter Name Plate.

Then Energy consumption is obtained by the reading on the energy meter reading on the display multiplied by Multiplying Factor (MF).

Dear,

Energy consumed in the time interval t2 - t1 can be expressed as

Energy in KWH units = (Reading of KWH meter @time t2 - Reading of KWH meter

@time t1) * Multiplication factor of metering system.

Multiplication factor = CT ratio * PT ratio

----------------- * scale factor of meter.

meter CTR * meter PTR

I can clarify that dividing the dif. of 2 KWH readings by time interval shall give you average KW load ( unit of power )on the system during that time.
