Mobile Phone Batteries

06/03/2011 3:25 AM

Hi, I want to learn the reason why there are some warnings with the newly bought phones such as "charge your battery for at least 12 hours before starting to use the phone". I think it has something to do with type of battery, maybe not whatever the reason please let me know it. Thanks

Because the manufacture only has a limited number of employees to take consumer complaints. Any battery that has been stored slowly loses it charge. They do not know how long it has been stored when you get it. So they would like you to charge it up first before you call and complain the battery won't hold a charge or your phone went dead because you assumed the battery came to you fully charged.

Good answer to a good question.

To the OP: in other words don't worry about it too much.

Manufacturer charges the battery only partially. (since it is not going to be discharged till it is sold to a customer). If it is not charged initially it will get depolarized. This is the reason they polarize the battery with partial charge before dispatch. Hence it is recommended to charge it for a minimum of 12hrs before (using) starting to discharge it.

I think it helps create ions in the electrolyte.
