This is simply a question of solvent resistance.

Have you thought about using an electric pencil for engraving you panels? Engraving metal or plastic tags and attach the tags with either epoxy or RTV? RTV would be easy to remove if you need to relabel the panels. DJ

Oh, I can't believe I didn't remember engraved lamacoid tags, black lettering on a white or light background.

All have good suggestions and I think ill do a combo of all. Engrave plexi glass and bolt labels to panel and clean them with alcohol or some turpentine like solvent. So maybe the sap will get trapped on the engraved area and make the label more visual.. what ya think

Hi Mat, I thought about mentioning nuts and bolts for attaching the tags, that would entail removing the interior panel and a lot of drilling. And being your in a saw mill, I'm sure you have a lot of sub panels though out the mill. Then you also have the problem securing the outer panel cover so no fool would stick they're hand in it while your drilling and fastening the tags. That's why I suggested using RTV. The epoxy would be fine except is more permanent solution for attaching the tags. DJ

I understand your concern. I do have a nightshift electrican who could do it while we were down. He's more of a transmission line guy than a controls/industrail elec. anyways.
