Compressing Strength of Cube

06/16/2011 2:02 AM

For M30 grade of concrete if the value of 7 days and 28 days results found differ from the design value(Means instead of 20.1 for 7 days it comes 23.0,25.0 and for 28 days it instead of 30 it comes 35.0,40.0) then the result will failure or not?

?? In each case, it sounds as though the concrete has exceeded the specifications.

Are you concerned that the concrete is too strong? the break results show it is stronger than the minimum design specification. In most applications I have ever dealt with this is fairly typical and what you would normally expect on good concrete. Many times the plants and/or subcontractors call for something slightly stronger just to make sure they make the minimum design strength.

RCE,

Isn't it also true that cube tests provide higher apparent strengths than cylinder tests?
