It seems that the BIOPOST is the name of the company and not the type.

When sewage as treated one is left with activated sludge which is an excellent fertilizer.

Sort of post biodegraded sewage.

Milwaukee Wisconsin process their sludge. They call it Milgorganite.

unfortunately, the city of Milwaukee sends a most of their sludge into Lake Michigan. Like a lot of city’s.

I know two types of POST fertilizers, I think they are called BIOPOST.

1. VERMIPOST Fertilizers- Made by vermiculture with the help of long worms.

2. COMPOST Fertilizers- Made by regulated bio-degrading of plant and kitchen waste.

Biopost seems to be a brand or trade name: SOCACO INTERNATIONAL BIOPOST.

Some information is available for them here, I see telephone numbers and email addresses, but no mention of a web page.

Currently, there is no widely recognized scientific or regulatory definition for the term “Biopost fertilizer.” However, the concept appears to overlap with two well-established categories:

1. Biofertilizers

These are products that contain beneficial live microorganisms (e.g., nitrogen-fixing bacteria, mycorrhizae, phosphate-solubilizing bacteria). They help enhance nutrient uptake, soil fertility, and plant growth.

Sources:

BPIA - Biological Products Industry Alliance

AgriSpex

2. Compost-based or fermented organic fertilizers

These are made from decomposed plant/animal residues, often enhanced with microbes. They improve soil structure and nutrient retention but may not contain live microbes like biofertilizers.

Biopost-Cofuna (the eventual business entity of Biopost) was a manufacturer (perhaps a packager/mixer/reseller) of fertilizers, based in France.

Now defunct.

So, Biopost is (was) a trade name, not a category of product.

When talking about bio fertilizers on a commercial/agricultural level, was is needed is the bio-fertilizers has to be analyzed for the (3) main components.

Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K)

And for agriculture application, the soil would also need to be tested to see what mix of those three components are needed as well as adding any trace minerals like selenium for the crops or lime to adjust the soils pH, ect...
