There are several inexpensive compressors that can be powered from a 12-volt car cigarette lighter socket. You may need to experiment with battery size (ampere-hours) to see what will suffice.

Hi,

It very much depends what you want to do with the compressor? Can you give us an idea?

Best regards,

John

Half-a-dozen appeared brand-new and unused on the market stall on Saturday in the town of Downham Market for £9GBP each. One would fit into a large coat pocket.

How about a simple hand-operated bike pump?

What is the application exactly?

How are you planning on using the compressor, application means everything before anyone can make a recommendation.

This really depends upon your application and how big your need is. There are lots of portable air compressors, some very small which plug into a cigarette lighter and some that are bigger and plug into the wall. Even most larger ones for a home or shop have wheels on them and can be moved around. You can also store air in a separate tank and just move the tank around from location to location.
