Cooling Tower Of Power Plant

07/24/2011 2:12 AM

WHY COOLING TOWERS OF POWER PLANTS ALLOW STEAM TO GO OUT AND LOOSE WATER? bASICALLY IT DOES JOB OF COOLING WITH HELP OF NORMAL WATER BUT THUS LOOSES LOT OF WATER.

Okay...what ideas do you have to capture 1) the evaporated water, 2) the bleed-off water that keeps impurities from concentrating, and 3) the "drift" (mist of water droplets that blow away)?

(And please tone down the all-caps shouting.)

Oh, all infact.

1.Evaporated water contains heat but lot of water.Atmosphere can cool or we can use perhaps.

2. Impurities can be removed but not water losses

3. Drift too, if given direction It can b useful.

This sit rue where water is precious.

Why not use dry coolers the size of the pentagon then? Hmm wonder what efficiency you'd have running all those fans? There is no substitute for latent heat rejection.

It is cheaper (otherwise known as less expensive: that is good).

Well, my question is misunderstood. I am not imagining replacement of cooling tower but of getting water out of discharge. Plant hot water is cooling , outgoing air with heat carries moisture goes in to atmosphere.can we not recover water getting wasted?

Yes, but the process (condensation, refrigeration, etc.) would most likely be much more costly than the cost of the lost water.

Energy which will consume in recovering the wasted water will be huge and if that energy is to be used then there is no need to design evaporative type cooling towers. Cooling water can be cooled directly by using huge energy by installing refrigeration machines. But think of economics and the ergonomics of the overall process.

No Mukesh, no such energy is required to gain water,we do not use refrigeration or anything.still water can be recovered, just to apply creative mind Rains come after clouds get cooled though it is longer process.we can find better method perhaps.

any way this is dream
