DG Coolant

what is the chemical which is mixed with water... that is added to DIESEL GENERATOR radiator as coolant..????

glycol. It is only needed if you have freezing condition.

More specifically, ethylene glycol. Some formulations include anticorrosion additives, and can thus be useful in nonfreezing situations. In addition, EG also raises the boiling point of the mixture.

may i knw the propotion of glycol/ethylene glycol, which is added to water...????? i want the ratio .....???? i mean liters of glycol per liters of water..

It depends on how cold the mixture might become. A table or chart of EG/water mixtures will give the freezing point of various ratios; you could select a ratio that has a freezing point of say 10°C below the lowest expected temperature at the DG's locale.

In this part of the world, 30%. In Singapore, none is needed.
