These questions sound, in aggregate, like an opportunity to use an internet search engine.

Er.... could it be that they are in the solid state as opposed to the conventional ones which are in liquid or gaseous or imginary or united states?

You have asked three questions in one thread . All the answers are available with a simple search in google. So why waste time here.

What do you mean by conventional stabilizers? I can understand if you ask the difference between electrical, electromechanical, hybrid , or solid state voltage stabilisers. Please read and study the subject by spending some time and if there is any further doubts put up here.

Dear Fiend/Anonymous Poster,

The conventional Voltage Stabilizers have a transformer with BOOST and BUCK CONFIGURATION for VOLTAGE.

It will have a transformer with input voltage sensing and varying out put ratio, with physically moving contacts. For lesser input voltage it will go to BOOST mode and for higher input voltage it will go to BUCK mode.

In another design, it will have 2 transformer, one with Higher Ratio of step-up, say 1 : 1.2, another Transformer with Lesser Ratio say 1 : 0.85, and the input supply will be changed from one transformer to other after sensing the in put voltage.

In the solid state system - there will not be any moving parts, fully electronic circuit and control, and weight will be much less.
