Ford.

That's all, Ford.

Or maybe 42.

Precisely.

Would this not be the perfect floor mat for a Ford Prefect?

Remember, there's only 228 days left until towel day.

Wow! I had no idea Adams had such a vast following. Thanks for the link.

I just love this one about Towel Day 2011 from your link:
Wikipedia was vandalized: the entire description of Earth was replaced by "Mostly harmless".

Regarding the cars: I agree with the suggestion of renting one of each for a few days. This seems very good idea and should not cost a bunch of money. For a few bucks you may be able to avoid years of discomfort and buyers remorse. It seems a wise investment. GA for lyn.

Given that the two are about equal in her mind, for me it would probably come down to which company I would support between the two.

Given the way GM acted when the government dangled monetary treats in the air and Ford had the sense to see what the real payback would be, I would not feel so comfortable with GM. Ford acted in a much more noble way by running (not walking) away.

Ford has turned itself into profitability without the taxpayer's help and I personally respect that more than GM or Chrysler.

Of course both of your feelings are what really counts here, but since you asked for an opinion, I rendered it.

Ford. The quality difference, in my opinion, is huge. I've owned Fords and have been very happy. I test drove some Chevy products and was very disappointed in them.

Now that GM is Government Motors, I refuse to buy anything from GM, but I admit that's just my grumpy politics.

My initial response is, buy a Ford. For reasons already stated.

I'd look at some of these:

Chevrolet Equinox vs. Ford Edge car comparison, compare auto ...
I might even go so far as to rent one of each for a weekend and take the same trip in both vehicles.

I like the suggestion. GA

A one week rental should give a good feeling of the really pertinent advantages and disadvantages of each design. The only drawback I see is this won't be enough time to give a feeling about any future repairs.

Thanks to everone for the input on "the ford edge or the chevy equinox"

After comparing both My Wife has decided on the eqinox only because it runs about

$4,000 cheaper. Both cars are nice and I would think it came down to price.

only time will tell if She made the right call.

Fair enough. Enjoy your new car, may it give you years of satisfaction.

I know it is a little late for this, but I am a little curious... In your OP you tell us the Chevy is a four cyl. The car is available with the 6 cyl GM High Feature LFW engine. Likewise the 2011 Ford Edge is available with the new EcoBoost I-4 4 cyl engine, not just a 6 cyl.

Were you looking at cars that were on the respective lots?
