Leroi Air Compressor

10/21/2011 12:26 AM

Hi All,

We have a leroi air compressor model 62-1289 W75SSA4 which was salvage from storage rip to pieces by the previous maintenance people and would like to restore it back. Can you help to provide the maintenance and operation manual or a link maybe where I could find such needs. Thank you so and appreciate much for the assistance.

That might be the problem: the original poster may not have the equipment details correct.

Sorry I cannot help you with your request. I am curious, however, why you need to attempt to reassemble a piece of machinery that has been dismantled previously? Resources have already been invested into some sort of investigative process, most probably in response to an un-serviceability issue. This was apparently futile.. Are you in some sort of resource starved environment where you would consider restoration? I hope that you are contemplating this as a training exercise. I think it may be a very expensive and most likely equally futile exercise. That in itself may be the lesson sought. Good luck.

I dunno dude...those compressors new cost from 2 grand to 29 grand. Seems worth the trouble to rebuild to me.

That explains why it was pulled to bits and then forgotten? I've heard that there is a place in east Asia where they make perfectly functional, disposable machinery for a fraction of the price, all brand new and shiny. Repair cost and time V brand new and fit for purpose. Hard call. What sort of service will the compressor be put to?

buying a new compressor is much more costlier than repairing what we have. 85 percent of the electrical parts/controls can be modified and replace by our existing stocks in the warehouse. we just intend to restore the compressor since the motor and compressor itself is in good condition, however we do not have the maintenance manual for our guide/reference to do it. any help from you guys will greatly be appreciated.

Try searching around this site. While the site is geared more to antique tractors, steam equipment and engines, there are a lot of guys there who deal with current (er not as old ) stuff there. Many of them have personal collections that rival entire junk yards. I have seen the name LeRoi mentioned there quite often. Granted it was mostly concerning their engines but, I imagine that there will be a few guys that are familiar with your compressor as well.
