Parellel Port To USB Connection

I have an old Canon Bubble jet printer BJC 1000sp which works on parallel port I have boughta Parallel to USB Adaptor (BAFO make )

with a driver cd.However when i conne ct the message displayed is USB device not recognised. Please help as to how I can make it work.

I don't know if this will help, but I've got some devices installed on a laptop running Windows XP that required the software be installed first (which required a re-start), before plugging in the devices.

Sometime during the process of "detecting" the new USB/Parallel interface, Windows should have prompted you, asking for a driver. At this point you would want to browse to the disk that came with the adapter.

Did you try to install the driver that came with the adapter? What version of windows are you using? Is the adapter compatible with that version of Windows? Did you read the install instructions?

More questions than answers......... Get back to us with a few clarifications.
