R-22 and R-407C

Can we use R-407C instead of R-22 without installing/changing anything in a cooilin unit?

I'm not sure, but I think with R-407C the oil must be changed; but R-417C is a "drop-in" replacement. Check also if thermal expansion valves need to be modified, along with changes in pressure settings.

Please, I am trying to understand the mechanical terminology, can you tell me what do R-22 and R-407C mean and what is their function?
