Developing Humanoid Robots

05/01/2007 12:06 AM

Hello Robotics Engineers,

If you are seriously looking to develop Humanoid robot then join these International conferences.

http://www.sfb588.uni-karlsruhe.de/

Those are in India and want to learn can become a member of the Robotics Club of India by paying Rs.2000/- (Rs.1000/- for students) or US$50 membership fee. We have a training class in Robotics at Gwalior with facility for about 300 participants.

I will welcome all young and not so young engineers and others interested in robotics to come and be a part of this nice program.

Members can purchase these parts at 50% price

1. H-Bridge Motor controller Boards

2. 89S52 Microcontroller board

3. PIR motion sensor

4. IR proximity sensor

5. Gas Sensors

6. Wireless data links of Radiometrix UK

7. Gear Motors, Stepper motors

8. Other items for robotic use

Robotics classes are conducted on Sundays and participation fee is Rs.300/- US$10 which includes free lunch and tea in five star Hotel Central Park, Gwalior.

Students need to come in a group of five participants from any place in India. Students from outside India will require VISA and hence must plan 4 months ahead of any meeting in India as per Government of India requirements.

Learning to use Roboarm

Dear Dr. Smith

No, I love humans and I like Robots, who can work for humans and may not look very annoying machines with lots of mechanical watch gears etc.

I dislike humans being used as Robots much more than Robots being used as humans.

If you re a real medical doctor then you may like a Robot assistant who can do surgery with precision. I will like a Robot to solder my PCB and test them, bring me coffee, take my dog for a walk and do some kitchen help to my wife, wash my cloths, look after some small help I may need while at work at odd places like seismic disasters, radiation contamination area, fire safety, tsunami rescue, explore the explosive infected zone, bring in safety in a bio war fare zone, and nuclear war clean up etc.

I am for real things and people at Robotics Club of India join to do just that. It is fun for children, knowledge for young engineers, and a place to teach for experienced scientists and engineers. I am in the last part of the game.

Dear Moose,

The very reason that I like the CR4 is the great team behind the screen doing what they are supposed to do and that they are doing so in a best possible manner. I never could hold on to any discussion forum this far as much I did with CR4. I think there are good people around to help each other. I wonder why it was named as CR4 and what that 4 means. Whatever it may be, I think there are many good people doing good job there. To hold on for long even with a good job is not easy. I want to thank you all there.

I am in serious business and trying to help young people to learn from me, using my resources, which they can not find easily with their resources. My feeling for young people is very intense and I consider every young person on the earth very close to me as my family member, so I want to teach them of all. It is sure not easy, but I am doing this for the last 30 years and there were 25000 of them who came into my class some point or the other. I may be able to double that number so still working for it seriously in many ways and means and in many directions, putting everything I have.

I will love some good questions such that some meaningful replies can reach others also. There are many good contributors to the CR4 and that is all matters.

You're welcome, Shyam. We're glad to have you here.

Best Regards,

Moose

P.S. CR4 stands for "Conference Room 4".

Conference Room 4 was once the location for engineering meetings at GlobalSpec, the Engineering Search Engine that powers this site. The real, physcial conference room still exists, but has since been renamed to honor Jack St. Clair Kilby, inventor of the microchip.

That is very interesting information. I like that very much. Honoring an inventor is very good thing to do and we all must do that. It is like some one was working for the world while we were at dance and dinner club and he never took any money from us. I will like to hear more about Jack St. Clair Kilby's work.

I'll add Jack St. Clair Kilby to my list of engineers to profile. There have been a few discussions about him on CR4, but I think he deserves a place in the Great Scientists and Engineers blog, too.
