Motor Rating for Electric Vehicle

To drive a 400 kgs of weight or electric car what should be the electric motor rating?

400kg's isn't a lot of mass for an electric car,

10hp should be sufficient for it to be mobile within reason.

A 40 hp motor will make it a hotrod but range will be an issue...
