If you want to know how to configure these instruments, your best source of information is the manufacturer. Every manufacturer publishes datasheets and instruction manuals identifying all these parameters in detail.

One of the easier-to-search manuafacturer websites I've found is Emerson, representing Rosemount, Fisher, Daniel, and other brand names:

Daniel has excellent technical references for AGA9 (ultrasonic) natural gas flowmeters. Rosemount has excellent references for magnetic and vortex flowmeters. Krohne is another manufacturer you should research as well.

I regularly give Emerson instruction manuals as reading assignments to my students as we learn the theory of different instruments. This is very good practice for students, as this is how they must usually learn new instrument technologies once they are working as technicians.
