Are you asking about a chemical to add to the nitric acid to neutralize ph or a coating for the tanks to withstand the chemical? what is the timeframe of storage?

Have you read this?

http://naca.central.cranfield.ac.uk/reports/1952/naca-rm-e52j16.pdf

I found it by typing "Investigation of Effects of Additives on Storage Properties of Fuming Nitric Acid" into Google.

Maybe this assignment was to see how good (or bad) your internet search capabilities are, hmmm?

Why use metals at all? Why not plastics?
