My first thought, too. Vinyl or latex gloves are cheap enough and probably better in the long run than any chemical used to remove paint from your skin.

(If you've already got paint on your skin, try a citrus oil product like Goo Gone. Lighter fluid also works.)

Vince,

It doesn't matter what type of chemical, or even "natural" product you use, anything strong enough to melt/decompose/remover cured/dried paint and varnish will be bad for your skin. At the very least it will remove your natural skin oils, if not your skin.

Think about it.

Wear Gloves.

Nice work!

Well, putting the hands in it doesn't sound as sensible as the prospect of wearing gloves while doing so.

What was it? Brand name? Trade name? Do you have a MSDS?

Can you find an alternative?
